Since the Renegade was designed to be used off and on-road, I figured there couldn’t be a better tire than Falken Wilpeak A/T Trail. This rugged all-terrain hybrid was designed to be used for any road condition while being capable of taking on adventures off the beaten path.

It comes with a three-peak mountain snowflake rating, which means it will perform in severely cold conditions. If you live in areas that have harsh winters, you will find comfort that even in the icy slush, you will not lose control. I have a set of these on my Cadillac and live in an area where we get five feet of snow every winter, and I have never needed winter tires.

Suppose you were worried about maintaining a quiet ride with an all-terrain tire. In that case, the Falken uses more compact tread blocks, which helps reduce noise generation.

Did you not appreciate how quickly the original tires on your renegade wore out? The A/T Trail comes with a sixty-five thousand mile warranty that actually holds up if you do the recommended tire rotations, tire pressure checks, and wheel alignments.

The Falken Wildpeak A/T trail is the top pick for its versatility and long tread life. Anyone who puts a set of these tires on will not be disappointed.

If you want a tire from a manufacturer with more name recognition, BFGoodrich decided to make the Trail-Terrain T/A after seeing how successful the Wildpeak was.

I know that the Renegade comes in affordable trims, so I got your back for those who couldn’t ball out on the Limited. The Nankang Cross Sport SP-9 is an extremely low-priced tire option for anyone who needs to get a set of tires that will get you from point A to point B.

Nankang is known for being an affordable tire brand. And while you may have never heard of it, the value you get will be extremely high.

Backed by a fifty-thousand-mile limited treadwear warranty and offering all-season traction, it will be almost impossible to find higher miles per dollar. I have seen this Nankang tire wear out prematurely quite frequently. Due to the low quality, you must take care of them, or you will never get the mileage promised.

Dry and wet roads may be a little dicey when making emergency stops because of the multidirectional siping in the tread pattern. And if you need winter traction, make sure you get a set of snow tires since the snow traction is not very good.

Compared to other low-priced all-season tires like the Kumho Solus TA31, the Nankang offers a much smoother ride and similar traction. That’s why I chose the Nankang Cross Sport SP-9 as your best budget tire.

What list of top tires wouldn’t be complete without including a Michelin product?

The Michelin CrossClimate2 is the right tire for anyone who needs peace of mind driving in any of the four seasons.

The deep tread depth combined with a directional tread pattern provides extreme wet weather evacuation, making hydroplaning difficult. And it comes with a three-peak mountain snowflake rating, which allows it to perform better than some snow tires.

Consumers have told me they prefer the CrossClimate over their Bridgestone Blizzaks in the snow.

If you were worried about overpaying for these tires, don’t worry. Michelin runs the most rebates through retailers out of any manufacturer.

It’s backed by a sixty-thousand-mile warranty. From my experience, it is infrequent for any tire made by Michelin to not hold up to their treadwear expectancies. Just like any other tire taking care of them is key to achieving any form of long tread life.

The CrossClimate2 is the perfect tire for the Jeep Renegade because of the high-quality ride comfort, all-weather traction, and it is backed by a solid warranty package.

For Renegades that come with the size 225/55R18, I would recommend the Michelin Defender2 since the CrossClimates are not made in the 18-inch size.

What makes a tire economical?

Some people say fuel efficiency. I say a tire that provides you the most value for your dollar. The Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus will offer better fuel efficiency and the most bang for the buck.

It has a low rolling resistance rating, which means it takes less energy to push the tires forward. The power source, of course, is your engine and gas providing the fuel. The Jeep Renegade has decent MPG, and the Ecopia will improve it slightly more.

It has a seventy thousand mile treadwear rating which is really high for a tire of its category of performance touring tire.

The traction in wet and dry provides confidence behind the wheel. You won’t need to worry about driving on those rainy days. I recommend having a set of winter tires in the snow as they may have a hard time in more than an inch or two of snow accumulation.

If you enjoy a quiet ride. The symmetrical tread pattern used to build this tire negates uneven wear patterns that tend to generate a lot of noise, such as cupping.

I almost chose the Pirelli P4 All Season Plus but found that the Bridgestone provided better ride qualities. Even though the Pirelli had a higher mile warranty.

I recommend the Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus for anyone’s Renegade that wants to get the most for their dollar.

If only they made a tire that would last forever. Well, the Goodyear Assurance MaxLife won’t last forever, but it will last you the most amount of time for your Renegade.

Tread life was not the only factor in picking the best tire for longevity. I also factored in traction, ride quality, handling, and value.

The Maxlife has an eighty-five thousand mile warranty, and there’s nothing that bothers me more than a manufacturer putting unrealistic expectations on a tire. But this is not the case with the Maxlife.

Achieving this long-lasting tread life will not be easy and will require some work on your part. Rotations, air pressure checks, and correct wheel alignment are all needed to ensure high mileage.

Goodyears rubber compound is one of the best in terms of holding up due to aging. One of the very few brands I have seen with ten years on them and no signs of dry rot.

On top of being long-lasting, it will also provide exceptional traction in wet, dry, and snow for having a symmetrical tread design. Make sure you use safe driving practices in the snow because it is not a snow tire and will struggle in heavy snowfall.

The Goodyear Assurance Maxlife offers many qualities, the best being its tread life. You can still achieve four years on it by driving twenty thousand miles a year.

NOTE: The Maxlife is not available for models with 16-inch rims. I recommend the Yokohama Avid Ascend LX if you have this size.

What To Look For When Buying The Best Tires For Jeep Renegades?

Below, I have listed a few things when looking for the best tires on a Jeep Renegade.

All-Season or All-Terrain

Where do you drive your Renegade?

If you like to go camping or hiking and frequently find yourself on more treacherous paths, an all-terrain would be better suited for you. The all-season would be the right choice if you only drive on paved roads.

Size

Some consumers I have helped with finding tires on the Renegade have said that the tires that come from factory are too small. You can upgrade the size on these Renegades to achieve a smoother ride and better look.

I cover optional plus size fitments further down.

Speed Rating

The tire’s speed rating not only determines the maximum speed a tire can travel without failing but also is a designation the manufacturer determines what is best for the car’s performance.

Jeep selects an H and V rating for the Renegade. I do not recommend going lower than these letters to ensure strong tire life and vehicle performance.

How Much Do Tires For Jeep Renegades Cost?

Below you will find estimates on how much tires will cost for the Jeep Renegade. Pricing will vary based on the tire size you have.

Four New Tires

Four new tires will cost you between $350 and $1300.

Two New Tires

If you need to replace only two tires, it will cost between $200 and $600.

It is never recommended to replace less than for tires if your Renegade is AWD.

Single Tire

For whatever reason, you only need to replace one single tire. It will cost between $100 and $300.

What Tire Size Is Best For A Jeep Renegade?

The recommended tire size is always going to be best. When car manufacturers build a vehicle, the size they select isn’t just a rash decision. They take things into account like handling, fuel efficiency, and safety.

How Long Should Your Jeep Renegade Tires Last?

If you perform proper tire maintenance practices, you can expect to receive forty-five to eighty thousand miles depending on your tires. Believe it or not, some tires last longer than others. What brand and model you choose will be the most significant factor in life expectancy.

When To Replace Tires On Your Jeep Renegade?

All tires must be replaced at either six years of age or 4/32nds of tread. The Renegade is no exception to these industry standards.

An easy visual way to tell if your tires are getting low on the tread is to check all tires’ treadwear indicators. If the tread is almost flush with these bars found in between the tread channels, you need new tires.

Does The Brand Matter For A Jeep Renegade When Replacing Tires?

The tire brand will matter if you want to receive any form of life or ride quality. Brands like Michelin, Continental, Bridgestone, Firestone, and Falken are all manufacturers that will provide your Renegade with good tread life and ride quality.

I recommend that if you can’t pronounce the brand’s name, you should probably stay away from it.

Does the Year of Your Jeep Renegade Matter When Buying New Tires?

Since the Renegade is a newer vehicle manufactured by Jeep and has not seen any significant changes since its original production. You can safely purchase any tire with the correct size and load-carrying capacity.

What Are The Biggest Tires I Can Put On A Jeep Renegade?

I don’t recommend changing the tire size for a few reasons, but if you can’t stand how small they look, I have listed the largest dimensions you can fit without modifications below.

  • 16-inch: 215/70R16
  • 17-inch: 225/75R16
  • 18-inch: 235/55R18

Remember, most tire retailers will be hesitant to install plus-size fitments.
