If there is one point that most consumers are in agreement with, it is that the BFGoodrich Advantage Control exhibits a significant degree of traction, under a wide array of circumstances and road conditions. This characteristic can be largely attributed to BFGoodrich’s use of a specialty high-performance silica compound, in the construction of the Advantage Control.

Feedback in this regard seems to be relatively mixed in nature, ranging in context from positive experiences that support BFGoodrich’s claims to outright dissatisfaction over excessive amounts of road noise. While some consumers reiterate the fact that the Advantage Control is the quietest tire they have ever owned, others state that it is unbearably noisy.

Science is certainly on the side of BFGoodrich’s claims, as the Advantage Control utilizes a computer-optimized tread pattern, specifically engineered to reduce road noise and resist premature treadwear. While we have found reason to doubt several of BFGoodrich´s claims surrounding their Advantage Control series tire, this certainly is not the case in regards to tread life. The BFGoodrich Advantage Control´s tread wears at a perplexingly slow rate, leaving many consumers to question how, exactly, BFGoodrich has managed such an accomplishment.

The secret to this minimized degree of treadwear lies in the composition and design of the tread patch itself. This tread patch was computer engineered by BFGoodrich, after months of stringent research. This resulted in a tread patch that was more uniform in design, resulting in an even distribution of friction, and the amount of wear that this friction produced.

Treadwear is also reduced through BFGoodrich´s use of a hybrid-silica base material when manufacturing all Control Advantage tires. This tread compound is extremely hearty by its very nature, thereby proving relatively resistant to the forces initiated upon it by standard amounts of friction.
